Sister Agnese Jenčíková CJ has been appointed as the new Provincial Superior in Slovakia and will take up office on 01 December. For the past three years Agnese has been in York where she has been a key person on the St Bede’s Pastoral Centre team, working first with Sr Cecilia Goodman CJ and for the past year with the new director, Julia Macdonald. Agnese has run Taizé evenings in English and Italian on a regular basis, and will shortly be running a day on ‘Deep Contemplation’. This was intended as the start of a new series on deepening Ignatian prayer for the laity. Agnese has been a great support to the team at St Bede’s and a lively, cheerful and generous member of the York community. She will be returning to Slovakia on 12 November and she goes with our love, our prayers, and the hope that such exchanges of personnel between provinces will continue and grow. She will be much missed.
