Sisters of the Congregation of Jesus (CJs) live a vowed life, consecrated to the love and service of God. Life as a CJ sister is both fulfilling and challenging, bringing real joy and a sense of belonging as we share our life and mission together.
We take four vows:
- Poverty: We live openhandedly, trusting in the generosity of God who knows our needs and provides for them.
- Chastity: The love of Jesus is the central relationship in our lives. From this springs our ability to be open to loving all people.
- Obedience: Listening prayerfully to God and our superiors, so that together we discover how to live and work according to God’s will.
- Mission: We vow special obedience to the Pope in relation to mission, promising to be sent wherever the need is greatest in the world.
Divine love is like a fire which will not let itself be shut up, for it is impossible to love God and not to labour to extend his honour.
